New canon figures for Dagbladet

- and strong digital growth of 9.2% for Aller Media

- Dagbladet wants to provide readers with the most engaging journalism, whether it's in updates, entertainment or information. The figures so far in 2022 show that we are succeeding in this," says Alexandra Beverfjord, editor-in-chief of Dagbladet.
- Dagbladet wants to provide readers with the most engaging journalism, whether it's in updates, entertainment or information. The figures so far in 2022 show that we are succeeding in this," says Alexandra Beverfjord, editor-in-chief of Dagbladet.

Dagbladet strengthens its position against competitors in the readership market. This is the conclusion of a delighted editor-in-chief, Alexandra Beverfjord, after seeing MBL's latest readership figures for the second quarter of this year. Dagbladet has a total digital coverage of 1,236,000 readers.

- All Norwegian newspapers have seen a formidable increase during the corona pandemic, where the need for information among the population has been enormous. This shows the importance of editor-driven media with high credibility. Now that the coronavirus situation has calmed down, it is entirely expected that there will be a slight decline in readership. It is therefore extremely gratifying to see that Dagbladet is the newspaper among the largest media that retains the largest share of these readers," says Alexandra Beverfjord, editor-in-chief of Dagbladet.

- Proud

According to Kantar, total digital coverage for Norwegian websites will decline by three percent from the first quarter to the second quarter of 2021.

Dagbladet has the smallest decline among the largest media from Q1 to Q2 from 1,245,000 to 1,236,000. This is a decrease of 0.7 percent.

In comparison, VG and NRK have a decline of 3.4 percent and 8.8 percent respectively.

- "We are proud of the work we have done during one of the biggest crises since World War II, and are grateful that so many readers have chosen to continue using Dagbladet as a news source. Breaking news is and remains our biggest investment, and we promise to work around the clock to offer our readers the very best from home and abroad in the time to come," says Beverfjord.

More revelations

Last month, Dagbladet celebrated the fact that the financial website Børsen was Norway's largest for the first time.

Dagbladet has just completed an intense election period where reader interest has been enormous.

- In recent weeks, Dagbladet has of course continuously provided readers and viewers with the latest news about the election. On election night, almost two million unique users visited Dagbladet's digital platforms. These are fabulous figures. In addition, we have had a number of revelations, including the whistleblower cases in FrP and how former Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik and the centre he established have received over three million kroner from what experts say is a regime-affiliated Muslim organization in Saudi Arabia," says news editor Frode Hansen.

- Far beyond expectations

The latest readership figures from MBL also show a decline of 6.5 percent for the paper newspaper from last year. The paper newspaper now has 94,600 daily readers.

- As early as 2017, Dagbladet announced that the paper newspaper could be discontinued in Q1 2018 at the earliest. But the paper newspaper has delivered far beyond our expectations, and we will continue to publish the paper newspaper as long as there is sufficient interest in the reader market for this product. The magazine reaches a total of 258,000 readers and is maintaining its strong position. But our main focus is in the digital market, and it is in the digital market that the majority of our users are," says Beverfjord.
