Coffee chat with hege

Name: Hege Fredlund Hoff

Position: Marketing Manager, VisitDenmark

I prefer my coffee to be: I don't actually drink coffee, but will happily have a cup of herbal tea!

What are you most looking forward to this fall?

Autumn is always exciting at VisitDenmark. We just had time to catch our breath after this year's summer holiday campaigns before we started our fall campaigns. In addition, sales to our partners in Denmark have started for 2023. Personally, I'm looking forward to some self-development this fall since I have plans for part-time studies in addition to my job at VisitDenmark.

What's most important to you as you enter a new budget year?

The most important thing for us is that we have a solid strategy in place. When this is in place, everyone works towards a clear goal and the budget is easy to allocate.

What do you think the trends will look like in 2023?

For those of us in the travel industry, 2023 will be an exciting and certainly a challenging year. The economic uncertainty that we all feel will also affect my industry. I hope and believe that we will see a trend towards vacations in nearby markets (and here Denmark is the best alternative). In addition, we will probably see travel being cut down so that people have fewer days on tour. Norwegians want to live in a sustainable way - even when traveling. That's why I think we'll gradually see people choosing destinations where this is possible. Today, this is not a decisive factor when choosing a destination.

What is it like working with Aller Media?

It's always a pleasure to work with Aller Media. A professional partner where we always get good service. I particularly appreciate the sparring I get in relation to the production of digital advertorials. I find that Aller Media has a strong focus on developing the product and I really appreciate the dialog we have with our contact persons, Maja and Ingrid. And it doesn't hurt that Aller Media has a writer based in Denmark who really knows my product!

Christmas is just around the corner! What are you doing to get into the Christmas spirit?

First and foremost, I'm looking forward to bringing my student daughter home from England! Otherwise, I just want to spend time with colleagues and friends in the time before the Christmas holidays. My colleague Hilde will probably find the radio station that plays Christmas music, so I have no doubt that the Christmas spirit will come eventually.
