Børsen was launched in 2019 and has experienced tremendous growth since its launch. Today, it is Norway's second largest financial and business website measured by the number of unique users (cookies), with almost 350,000 visits every single day.
- "The first two years of Børsen have been adventurous, and we have constantly set traffic records. Last fall, Børsen reached a milestone when we were Norway's largest financial and business website in terms of the number of unique users for an entire week," says acting development editor Jan Thomas Holmlund.
Børsen's slogan is "Finance for the people", and every day Børsen delivers high-quality financial and business journalism, presented in a tabloid style and in a way that makes it easy to read and understand for everyone.
The subject matter ranges from financial news and figures, to the drama from inside the financial world, to stories that allow the user to dream away in luxury cabins and expensive villas. They want to explain how the macro economy has an impact on the lives and daily lives of ordinary people. This is a strategy that has worked very well and the response has been overwhelming.
- The response we've received from readers has been overwhelmingly positive, and 350,000 daily users indicate a great interest in accessible financial and business journalism written for ordinary people. We work hard every day to deliver finance to the people," says Holmlund.
Despite ambitious goals from the start, Børsen has had to set even bolder goals time and time again. They are now ready for a huge investment. A larger editorial team, a new news studio and more editorial initiatives are just the beginning of what awaits Børsen in the coming year.
- In 2022, we're taking the initiative one step further and doubling the number of journalists in the editorial team. This makes us even better equipped to be the first with the latest news, explain the big numbers and most important news, and bring the user inside the luxury lives and homes of the rich. The competition for people's time is fierce, and we are very pleased that Børsen is attracting more and more users. Now that we're taking it up another notch, it's the users who are the big winners," says Holmlund.
Henrik Staib, commercial business developer at Aller Media, says that the investment will lead to even greater reach for advertisers and partners in a continued safe advertising environment on børsen.no. "They take advertisers' wishes and needs seriously, and they deliver high coverage in a very attractive target group.
- Looking back on 2021, it's nice to count the number of advertisers who want to work with us again and again, and 2022 will be even better," says Staib and continues:
- We have expanded the number of ad slots for our content product, which I would like to highlight as a product that really gives advertisers a real impact. It's also nice to be able to offer a predictable inventory so that advertisers can plan their campaigns with us. All in all, we're very excited about the future, especially the reader growth we've seen so far is absolutely awesome and this will only go one way and that's up!
