But Lexus, Tesla and X-Peng also came out on top in their categories.
Alexandra Beverfjord, editor and CEO of Dagbladet , welcomed everyone to this year's car breakfast, where the Kantar Car Index 2021 was presented.
As in previous years, the automotive industry gathered at Aker Brygge for breakfast and a car seminar, and first up was Bernt G. Jessen, who has 25 years of management/executive experience from the automotive industry. He took a look into the crystal ball of the industry, and also mentioned how important the automotive industry is in Norway. You can listen to the entire lecture here:
Alexandra Beverfjord then gave the floor to Sindre Hellkås and Aleksander Hamm, Group Account Manager at Aller Media. They showed a couple of car case examples for Skoda and Volvo respectively, where the production costs were relatively low and the resources used were small, but which worked really well in the Aller universe. You can listen to the entire presentation here:
Fred Magne Skillebæk, editorial director of Elbil 24, then presented the finalists for Car of the Year 2022. The prestigious award ceremony that is taking place in Dagbladet, Din Side and Elbl24 these days. Here they will ultimately choose the Car of the Year, the People's Favorite and the Naughtiest of the Year. You can see the entire presentation here:
And finally, Anders. G. Hovde from Kantar presented the major car index survey for 2021.
- The new winner this year is Toyota, ahead of Volkswagen and BMW. "It was actually a bit exciting with Toyota. They show that good old-fashioned customer service is important. They win on preference, customer satisfaction and the market's impression of the brand. However, the lead is close. VW and BMW follow closely behind, and there are no statistically significant differences between VM and BMW, he revealed.
Several car brands asserted themselves
This year's Car Index also calculated four sub-indices, which is new for this year's survey and meant that several car brands stood out in different categories.
Tesla, strongest brand preference. Showed the ranking of brands according to the extent to which owners were satisfied with owning the car brand, and the extent to which they preferred this brand over other brands.
Lexus best brand dealer. Showed the ranking of the brands according to how satisfied the owners were with the dealer they bought the car from and to what extent they prefer this brand dealer over dealers of other brands.
Lexus best corona management. Showcased the brand's dealer network that customers believe has handled the corona situation best.
X-Peng, most famous newcomer. Norway's best-known car brand among newcomers. Over the past few years, a number of new car brands have arrived in Norway, here we presented which of these brands Norwegian car buyers are most familiar with.
