Dagbladet focus on local news in Bergen and Trondheim

- For advertisers, this means meeting readers where they live.
Local investment Dagbladet

After a 15-year break, Dagbladet is back with local offices along the Norwegian coast. This fall, they are launching two new local initiatives that will be filled with news from Bergen and Trondheim, created by their own local journalists in the cities.

- "People trust local journalism and often check it before the national news. Now we can offer advertising space in a local context, which opens up a highly relevant target group for advertisers who want to advertise locally in these two big cities. For advertisers, this means meeting readers where they live," says Henrik Staib, Commercial Business Developer at Aller Media.

Comeback for Dagbladet

Not since the early 2000s has Dagbladet had its own local offices elsewhere in the country. Today, the news operation is managed from the editorial office in Hasle, Oslo.

- " Dagbladet will be for the whole country, and we want to offer Bergen and Trøndelag local content as an extra service. In true Dagblad spirit, breaking news will be our main focus in the two cities, and our local presence will also be strengthened with the country's best breaking desk," says development editor Martine Lunder Brenne.

Brenne adds that the local launches are part of a larger strategic initiative that will hopefully make Dagbladet bigger, stronger and even better.

Biggest increase

Figures from MBL show that Dagbladet is the news website in Norway that is growing the most, with 1,341,000 daily digital readers in the first quarter of 2022 - an increase of 7.7 percent from the same period last year. No other media can show higher digital readership growth this year.

- News is our heart, and this growth means that we are able to deliver news to an even greater extent than before. We're excited! Says Brenne.
