Stranda is one of Norway's strongest brands in cured meats, and has a solid position in the premium segment. The brand, which is particularly known for quality, tradition and local roots, is often the first choice for cured ham in grocery stores.
When Stranda launched Marinated Bacon Slices in Teriyaki and Sweet Chili flavors, they wanted to reach young adults aged 25 and up who are interested in food enjoyment, inspiration and new flavors. With Nonstop in their portfolio, where viewers are more likely to consume cured meats than the general population, no one could be better suited than Aller Media to launch the tasty world novelty.
The goal was to create maximum attention around the innovation that adds new flavors, more uses and, not least, better utilization of the raw material to the cured meat category.
The solution was creative storytelling in the Nonstop universe, which suited the target group perfectly.
- The concept "Big in Japan" provided attention, entertainment and highlighted innovation in a playful and energetic way. Nonstop sponsorship ensured broad coverage towards younger adults, with sponsor vignettes including Japanese voiceover, product placement and integrated messages, says Robert Grosvold, Sponsorship Manager at Aller Media.
In addition, the Nonstop editorial team completely renovated and "moved" the studio to Japan, with a clear view of the Tokyo metropolis and integrated messaging.
Aller Media also developed its own innovative Stranda game adapted for mobile.
- The Stranda game is a completely new approach in the total media mix that created extra engagement and loyalty. Together with Stranda's own brand activations, our interactive activity contributed greatly to showing the product's versatility, strengthening the link to Stranda's quality heritage and, not least, increasing the desire to buy, says Grosvold.
The innovative sponsorship delivered (pre)precious metal:
"Aller Media dared to go outside established boundaries and stretched an already playful and creative universe even further. The icing on the cake was the game that functioned as a playful tool across the client's departments."
