Norway's first voice-controlled ad!

PrivatMegleren used new technology to respond to customer needs. This secured a place in the Aller Best final - and a solid increase in leads

- "It's really wrong to call it an advertisement," says Jan Thoresen, CEO of SOL.

- It's a service that you can choose to use or not. The service was the very first of its kind in Norway - and perhaps in the world.

The collaboration between PrivatMegleren, Ko&Co and SOL/Aller Media resulted in an advertisement you can talk to - to get an estimate of the value of your home. In addition to developing the service, Aller also contributed to the media mix with full screen cross device, and a coverage package that includes Dagbladet, DinSide, SOL, Se&Hør, KK and Vi.no

The challenges:

1. How to get leads - with the restrictions imposed by the GDPR rules that came in 2018?

2. How to stand out when all brokers offer free valuations?

- We knew from last year that the ad with the best response had the message "Do you know what your home is worth?" This is something people are interested in and want to know, but it involves inviting an estate agent to your home, which for many people represents a high threshold for making contact," says agency manager at Ko & Co, Alf Gunnar Nilsen.

Voice was launched in Norway via Google in October 2018, and once SOL/Aller Media had the technological rigging for the voice-controlled ad in place, they were able to develop a new solution to meet people's needs. Because voice control is new to most people, the campaign had to be both informative and educational. The marketing was geo-segmented to the areas where PrivatMegleren has offices.
