KK's agreement with readers and advertisers

New readership surveys show solid progress in the women's magazine segment.
- "We have a clear agreement with our readers and stay true to what is 'KK'," says Ingeborg Heldal, editor of KK.
- "We have a clear agreement with our readers and stay true to what is 'KK'," says Ingeborg Heldal, editor of KK.

KK delivers both digitally and in print, and has managed to create a broad women's universe with a loyal readership. They have also managed to balance the readership of the print magazine - a feat in itself, in a format that is fading. What does KK do to maintain good numbers and loyalty among its readers?

- We have a clear agreement with our readers and stay true to what is "KK". That's why we always fill KK's space with content we know our readers want. Despite the fact that we tap into the news, we make sure to do it the KK way - we always look for the woman in the story," says KK editor Ingeborg Heldal.

KK always aims to entertain, update and inspire the reader. It is a universe created by women, for women, and has maintained its focus on women from the start. One of the ways they do this is with their print column "Livet mitt" (my life), which focuses on the everyday lives of Norwegian women.

- We are an important documentary maker for Norwegian women's lives," says Heldal and continues:

- Women can be whatever they want to be! Just because she's interested in trends and skincare doesn't mean she's not interested in what's going on in the world. We manage to have two thoughts at once! You can be a feminist or an activist and still have a big makeup bag.

An important social mission

Heldal says that KK's focus on women's health is an important social mission.

- "This is a topic that is being talked about less and less. That's why it's even more important that we educate and highlight such an important topic," says Heldal.

As I said, KK is a universe that is true to its promise to the reader. They have created a universe that inspires and enlightens every single day, and they will continue to do so. It's a strategy that is reflected in the figures they deliver, both digitally and in print.

A safe environment for advertisers

Heldal says that editor-driven media have never been more important than they are today, in a sea of social media, comments sections and wild propaganda. They have therefore provided a safe platform for both the advertiser and the reader.

- I'm passionate about editor-driven media. We must always create a safe environment - not just for our advertisers, but for those who choose to tell their story in our channels. It's also important that our readers are exposed to well-crafted content in safe media. I repeat: Editor-driven media has never been more important!
