Mediebedriftenes Landsforening's annual competition took place on May 4 at Ole Bull Scene in Bergen. Norway's most prestigious media awards were handed out, and among the nominees was KK, which took the prize for "Magazine of the Year"!

- "This is a fantastic recognition for KK and those of us who work with the product every single day. I am incredibly proud that the jury emphasizes our work with diversity - and the fact that we have further developed and digitized the brand in a way that none of our competitors can show, says Ingeborg Heldal, editor in charge at KK.

Corporate social responsibility, diversity and sustainability

The jury's justification states, among other things, that: "This year's magazine has made a clear profile change in recent years, and has chosen to be a magazine that takes a stand and shows social responsibility. Diversity and sustainability are important pillars on which the magazine bases all its editorial choices. The cover is deliberately used to take a stand and show the way, and the storytelling is solid.

The magazine is true to the core of the business - the good stories and inspiration, all conveyed with both aesthetic and linguistic quality - whether in print or digitally. The magazine is at the forefront of digital user payment for magazine journalism, and shows that it is possible to move magazine readers to digital platforms. This year's magazine is a master at cultivating the value of the brand, and continues to develop its 148-year-old women's universe in new directions and on new platforms."

- It's enough to give you goosebumps! I'm so proud that I almost burst," says Heldal.

Own the female target group

Universet has become Norway's largest gathering place for women. They deliver both digitally and in print, and have created a broad women's universe with a loyal readership. They have managed to balance the readership of the print magazine by staying true to their readers and to what is "KK".

- KK is the most complete women's magazine and OWNS the female target group," says Heldal.

- We will continue our digital growth and meet our users on the platforms they are on. Sustainability and diversity will continue to be our cornerstones, along with the good feeling of inspiration, entertainment and fun that has always been important to KK. We are bubbling over with ideas!
