Christmas chat with Ingrid Gulaker Motrøen in Nille

- I love retail and find my job fantastically exciting!

Ingrid Gulaker Motrøen started as marketing manager at Nille a year ago, when the challenges posed by Covid were perhaps at their most difficult. Nevertheless, she and her team managed to engage their customers, including with "knitting madness" at Easter through Aller Media's platforms.

What inspired you the most in 2021?

- I think I have to say the ability of my colleagues, both in our stores, warehouse and head office, to make the best out of a difficult situation with closed stores, restrictions and all the challenges Covid has brought. I'm insanely proud to be part of an organization that performs at this level and really just gives everything. I'm also very inspired by my husband, who is fantastic at his job, both professionally and as a leader.

What are your expectations for 2022?

- I have great expectations for 2022! After a year in fairly demanding circumstances, I believe that 2022 will offer slightly better opportunities to work more strategically with the potential that lies in the Nille brand. I also expect the year to present challenges due to Covid, both in terms of access to goods, prices and restrictions in society in general. But we just have to take this in our stride and solve it as best we can.

What do you think about the collaboration with Aller Media going forward?

- We have very good experience of collaboration from 2021, so it will be exciting to see the opportunities that lie ahead.

How do you celebrate Christmas?

- This year I'll be celebrating Christmas at home in Oppdal with my parents, husband and children. I'm really looking forward to it, and there's something special about "going home" for Christmas. I'm passionate about family and traditions, and I love the days of peace and quiet and the wonderful atmosphere with family I don't see often enough. Smoked fish, beer and aquavit are perhaps the things I look forward to the most, and I only eat them when I'm at home. Christmas and New Year at the cabin in Aurdal with good friends, skiing and fun makes for a great ending and start to the year.
