- we will be an annoying watchdog that bites the big players in the leg .....
After a long career in telecom, Haakon Dyrnes changed tack and started the electricity company Klarkraft. The company was simply started because they were so pissed off by reading the electricity bill, which they perceived as a scam. They realized that people pay very little attention to their electricity bills, and as a counter-reaction they started Klarkraft.
What inspired you the most in 2021?
Starting a company is a bit all-consuming, so this year has mostly been about positioning Klarkraft, making sure everything works properly and, not least, welcoming customers. It's been very inspiring to enter a completely new industry for me and challenge the big, established players in terms of efficiency and communication. There's a lot of money to be saved by choosing the right electricity supplier, so being able to help customers understand that has been fun.
What are your expectations for 2022?
Then Klarkraft will take new steps and grow, and we will continue to speak clearly and be an annoying watchdog that bites the big players in the leg, as well as being on the customer's side in an industry that has long suffered from a terribly skewed power relationship between supplier and customer. By the end of 2022, hopefully far more electricity customers than today will understand what they are paying for, and will therefore already have switched electricity suppliers.
What do you think about Aller Media going forward?
I'm most concerned that they continue to deliver on the activities we have with them. And if they are just as good at following up their customers and delivering good content and analysis - then I'm happy.
How do you celebrate Christmas?
I celebrate Christmas with various parts of the extended family on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Then it's off to the mountains for the rest of Christmas, hopefully with lots of snow and outdoor activities such as sledding, skiing and building snow caves.
