DinSide wants to be part of people's lives. House and home, vacations, cars and everyday life. And more and more people are using DinSide to find their way around their private "jungle".

-"DinSide is investing heavily, and we are reaching more and more readers. We deliver a very good product to our readers, and our ambition is to make it even better and even more important in people's everyday lives," says Rolf Fiske, editor of DinSide.

This fall has been a jubilant journey for DinSide. The consumer website has been very close to one million read articles on several single days, and has been visited by over half a million different readers in one day. These are formidable figures, and show that the journalism they deliver has a broad and positive impact.

New investment

And DinSide is not done with the investment. In a short time, the design will change, to a visual expression as a consumer website and hopes to make even more people feel at home when they visit.

-More colors, a new focus on house and home, car journalism will focus on electric cars, we will continue with a strong focus on Norwegian holidays and, last but not least, we will become even better at consumer news," says editor Fiske.

The focus on house and home has already paid off. Readership figures show that these articles are read by many people, and more and more. In Norway, we spend a huge amount of money on house and home, so it's not surprising that interest in the articles is sky-high.

-YourSide has also hired a new journalist, Celina Stamper, who is responsible for this important niche. Celina lives and breathes houses, design and smart tips and advice. She is also a strong user of social media, not least Instagram.

In this context, editor Fiske mentions that the tests, which are done by DinSide's incredibly qualified reporters, are also important and popular.

-"We must also help readers to make choices when investing in their houses and homes. DinSide has made its mark on test journalism for decades, and we will continue to do so. So before you buy anything, check whether DinSide has tested the product.

A new world

Norway loves electric cars, and soon the electrification of the car fleet will be complete. DinSide is, and will be, a strong player in this new world. That's why we are now fully focused on testing electric cars and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of this transition. And we will also be a "watchdog" for politicians in connection with electrification.

-"We see new cars, we hear about range anxiety, too few charging stations in rural areas and the strengths and weaknesses of the new cars. We want to be both a player and a part of this incredibly exciting transition," says editor Fiske.

In January, journalist Martin Gramnæs will join DinSide and take us through this incredibly exciting development period.

Norwegian vacation

The corona virus hit Norway on March 12 last year. The country was shut down. In record time, we saw that our own vacation country was closest, and we started Project Norway Vacation. We took the situation seriously and delivered article after article about Norwegian holidays.

DinSide quickly noticed that there was a lot of interest in these articles. This summer, we launched again, and this time we experienced a flood of readers. Close to 50 million articles were read within a few months.

That's why we've decided to expand this initiative. Now we're talking about Norwegian holidays in combination with summer, fall, Christmas, winter and Easter. And we will also have a greater focus on "Norway, our closest holiday destination" next summer.

The well-known travel journalist Odd Roar Lange is responsible for this initiative.

Embla on TV

Over the past year, DinSide has also made a conscious decision to focus on online TV. Embla Hjort-Larsen has spearheaded this gradual approach to the moving image market.

-"We are now in the process of professionalizing this video initiative, and soon Embla will appear with her own program. Stay tuned, and you'll be rich in both inspiration and ideas.

-All in all, we are facing an exciting period at DinSide, which will certainly bring us new and many more readers. We are already a large website by Norwegian standards. And we will become even bigger," concludes a very satisfied and committed editor Rolf Fiske.
