The result is NOK 100 million better than the previous financial year. Strong growth in digital advertising.
Aller Media has completed another deviating financial year and we can now report an operating profit of NOK 175 million (EBITDA) on a turnover of NOK 1.59 billion, corresponding to a margin of 11%.
The result is SEK 100 million better than in the previous financial year, while sales remained at the same level as in the previous financial year.
- Last fall, we ended a very good year with many positive developments. A lot is happening in many areas within Aller Media. Not least, we have many digital legs to stand on. A lot has happened on the innovation side in Aller Media - and we see the results of that today," says CEO Dag Sørsdahl of Aller Media.
In the financial year 2019/2020, the Aller Media Group had a turnover of NOK 1.599 billion and a profit (EBITDA) of NOK 75 million, strongly affected by Corona in parts of the year, while the last year 2020/21 landed at NOK 1.594 billion in turnover and NOK 175 million in EBITDA profit.
- "What's great to see is that our digital products are starting to generate sales volumes and make a good contribution to the bottom line. We have worked well with brands and companies - and now we can see that we are succeeding with a lot of things. The fact that we are well underway with major recruitment processes with 80 FTEs in editorial, commercial and technology is proof that we have a strong belief in the future. We have a very good team - which is constantly improving," says Dag Sørsdahl.
As usual, Aller Media has a deviating financial year and closed its accounts on September 30. The company has three different main areas. These are Media, Services and Ahead Group. The Group as a whole has around 600 employees in Norway. The media division accounts for 80 percent of Aller Media's total turnover.
- "At Aller Media, we have worked aggressively to develop new digital revenue streams as well as developing good, old revenue streams by strengthening customer value. This has not only yielded good results and increased revenue in the media section, but the results have actually come a little faster than expected," says Executive Vice President Bente Klemetsdal in Sales and Marketing at Aller Media.
In the last financial year, the media part of Aller Media had a turnover of NOK 1.26 billion, representing a growth of 5%. Advertising revenue in the same financial year amounted to NOK 432 million, corresponding to a digital growth of 20% better than the previous year.
Within media, the Group has brands such as Dagbladet, Se og Hør, DinSide, KK, SOL, Allers, Elbil24, Lommelegen, Børsen and others. Services include PlussMobil and Roede. While Ahead Group has brands such as Hyper, Oculos, Nova Vista, Elg and others.
But it is not only the financial figures that are booming for Aller Media. The coverage figures for the various brands within the media part of Aller Media are also growing well.
- We now have a weekly digital coverage of 2.5 million Norwegians. We are strong in both mass communication and target groups in smaller niches. We have our own first-party data - and we have modeled data. Yes, we have first-class target groups - and large volumes of digital users," says Bente Klemetsdal.
Dag Sørsdahl is now well into a new financial year - and can report that the positive development continues.
- The figures after our first quarter (2021/2022) show that we are continuing our positive development, and that our digital media products are delivering ever better - with growth in volume and profitability. Advertising growth is 26% compared to the same period last year, and we have welcomed many new employees. So far, we are very satisfied with the new financial year 2021/2022," says CEO Dag Sørsdahl.
