That is why KK, in collaboration with Femina in Norway and Sweden, has put the spotlight on what happens after the breakup. Through the initiative "Violence after violence", a reality that far too few people talk about is highlighted: after-violence - when control, pressure and power continue in new forms.
“For us at KK, this is the core of what we are supposed to be: relevant, responsible and close to women's reality. We cannot tell the story of violence without also telling what happens afterwards,” says Ingeborg Heldal, editor-in-chief of KK.
For many, the violence does not end. It moves on. Into finances, legal processes and cooperation over children, or manifests itself as harassment, surveillance and psychological pressure.
At the same time, many people are faced with the expectation that they are now “finished” and should move on. For many, the truth is the opposite: This is where the fight begins.
Through this initiative, KK and Femina give space to the stories that are often not heard, and contribute to a greater understanding of how violence can continue, even without visible traces.
This is not just about individuals.
It's about safety, legal certainty, and seeing what happens afterwards.
